Where can I park in Tbilisi, and how does paid parking work?

Paid parking is available on many central Tbilisi streets, including Kote Afkhazi, Baratashvili, Chavchavadze and Vazha-Pshavela. The hourly rate is 1 GEL in Zone A, 2 GEL in Zone B and 3 GEL in Zone C. Check the sign next to the parking space for the zone and current rate.

You can pay through the Tbilisi Parking app, at Bank of Georgia and TBC payment terminals, or online at parking.tbilisi.gov.ge. The official website also lets you pay parking fines. Bank of Georgia and TBC also have their own payment services, bogpay.ge and tbcpay.ge.

The parking system also allows a 15-minute free parking period under the city’s zonal parking rules. If you stay longer, make sure the parking fee is paid for the vehicle and location.

Do not leave a car in a no-parking area, on a sidewalk or at a bus stop. Parking violations can result in a fine, and in some cases the vehicle may be towed.

If you do not want to look for a space on the street, private paid parking is available around Freedom Square, Orbeliani Square and Galleria Tbilisi. The airport and railway station have separate paid parking areas.

If you are renting a car, check with your hotel before arrival. Some hotels have private parking, so you can leave the car there instead of looking for a street space each time.
